Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

Prolific young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The publisher declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published in excess of 40 works in total, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
